Well… yes, we party and drink in Nepal too. Nepalese nightlife is totally awesome. Not only because on the dance floor drunken tourists and travellers try to grab someone’s ass all the time, but also because bars are open until 00.00 o’clock! So after crazy party you have enough time to get good night sleep and wake up fresh next morning.
Waking up fresh wasn’t part of our plan when we observed Thamel night life yesterday, so after dancing we went to after party… and after that we decided to have our own after party. All in all the night was a big success including drinks, dinner, drinks, live band, drinks, dancing, drinks, dancing.. Shops in Thamel area stay open much longer than normally, so there are still a lot of people there while in Kalanki area, where we are staying, it’s already quiet after 8 o’clock in the evening.
You can buy cigarettes one at the time and it will cost you from 5 to 10 rupees (1€ = about 100 rupees) so it’s practically nothing compared to Finland’s price. Local alcohol is also pretty cheap. For one glass of rakshi you have to pay 15 rupees. If you ask me rakshi is a weird combination of strong alcohol, water and maybe a little amount of gasoline. One glass of this magical potion is enough to take your brain (and sometimes your feet too) on totally new level.
That is pretty much everything i learnt about Nepal this week so maybe next week I’ll concentrate on culture and nature.
